Frequently Asked Questions about Thermal Labels

Do thermal labels need a ribbon?
No, direct thermal printing does not require a thermal transfer ribbon. The print head heats the paper directly.

Are thermal labels resistant to moisture?
The Direct Thermal Eco range offers limited resistance. For moisture, grease or repeated handling, the Direct Thermal Top range or synthetic labels are recommended.

What is the lifespan of a thermal label?
Short to medium: they are sensitive to heat, UV light and prolonged friction. For long-term archiving, thermal transfer or polypropylene labels are preferable.

How do I choose the right format and core?
The choice depends on your printer and your application (shipping, scales, inventory). Our team can help you select the right reference: contact@etiquettespro.fr.

Do thermal labels contain BPA?

No. European regulations have banned bisphenol A in thermal paper since 2020. More details on BPA regulation.
